Today’s family shoot was the most meaningful photography sessions I’ve ever had. A few weeks ago I received an email from Laura Shumaker (aka Laura Wert) and she told me that her mom had cancer and doesn’t have long to live. She wanted some photos to remember her by and asked me if I’d be available for a family session. Let me say, I was honored to receive that email.
However, Grace’s health started taking a turn for the worst and Laura wasn’t sure if she’d make it to the family session. Thankfully Grace is still hanging in there, and the session was still on. Leading up to the photo session Laura gave me a heads up that the yard was a mess and Grace might not have the strength to get out of bed. She left a voicemail saying, “this will be a challenge for you.” While driving through the back roads of Charlestown, on my way to the Wert’s, I was praying and praying that God would bless the day and allow a wonderful family session. Well, God showed up! Grace had more energy today than she’s had in a few weeks and was all smiles. I was so thankful to have the opportunity to capture these wonderful memories for the Wert family. Thank you for giving me the privilege of taking family photos for you today.
